George Airport is roughly 70 km away, about an hour by road, and is the practical arrival point for a Garden Route trip. Cape Town is around 500 km, or five and a half to six hours on the N2. Plettenberg Bay is about 30 minutes east. A car is essential on this coast, though the Protea Hotel Knysna Quays is one of the few places you can leave it parked for a day.
