Cape Town Travel Guide is an independent editorial website providing general travel information about Cape Town and the Western Cape. It is not an official tourism authority, a travel agency, a tour operator or a booking agent.

We research carefully and source from primary authorities, but travel information changes constantly and we cannot guarantee that everything here is current or complete. Prices, opening hours, transport services, ferry sailings, park access, permit requirements, road conditions and trail closures all change, sometimes without notice.
You must verify anything time-critical or safety-critical with the relevant official source or operator before you rely on it. That includes opening hours and fees, whether a road or pass is open, whether a trail is closed for fire or flood, permit requirements, and current safety and security conditions.
Content about hiking, mountains, beaches, marine activities, remote roads and driving is general information, not a substitute for proper preparation, local advice, a current weather forecast, official notices or professional guiding. Outdoor activity in the Western Cape carries real risk, including from rapidly changing mountain weather, wildfire, rip currents and remote-area travel.
