Zwartberg View Mountain Lodge is a mountain lodge in De Rust road, Oudtshoorn.
Location
The property is at Vergelegen Road, off the N12 between Oudtshoorn and De Rust. Oudtshoorn lies inland in the Klein Karoo, between the Outeniqua and Swartberg mountains, and is the driest and hottest of the destinations covered here. The town grew wealthy on ostrich feathers and still farms them; the Cango Caves and the Swartberg Pass are north of town, and George and the coast are about an hour south over the Outeniqua Pass.
Oudtshoorn is inland, about an hour north of George over the Outeniqua Pass, and roughly five hours from Cape Town by road on the N1 and R62. George Airport is the nearest airport. The Cango Caves are about half an hour north of town and the ostrich farms are on its doorstep. The Swartberg Pass and Prince Albert lie beyond the caves, De Rust and Meiringspoort are east on the N12, and the Outeniqua Pass drops south to George and the coast in about an hour.
Booking this property
Availability, room types, rates and cancellation terms are set by the property and its booking provider, not by us. The Klein Karoo is hot and dry in summer, with December and January temperatures regularly above thirty degrees, and cold at night in winter. The town fills during the Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees around March or April. Spring and autumn are usually the most comfortable months to visit.
