De Hoop Collection is the accommodation operator inside De Hoop Nature Reserve, the CapeNature reserve on the Overberg coast between Bredasdorp and the Breede River mouth.
Location
The property is inside the reserve itself, near the De Hoop Vlei, which places it within the protected area rather than in any of the surrounding towns. Koppie Alleen and the reserve coastline lie to the south, and the Potberg section, where the Whale Trail begins, lies to the east.

Exploring De Hoop Nature Reserve from here
CapeNature manages De Hoop as one of its largest reserves, covering some 34 000 hectares of the Overberg coast about three hours from Cape Town, and the reserve forms part of a World Heritage Site. The adjoining marine protected area extends 5 km out to sea and is one of the largest in Africa. Southern right whales move into these waters between June and November to breed and raise their young, and the high dunes at Koppie Alleen are a recognised land-based vantage point. The 55 km Whale Trail runs from Potberg to Koppie Alleen with five overnight stops. Bontebok, Cape mountain zebra, eland, grey rhebok, baboon and yellow mongoose all occur in the reserve.
