Choosing a city or food experience

These are shorter, mostly walking-paced experiences in and around the city. The main groups are food and drink - market visits, tasting walks, craft beer and gin, and cooking sessions; neighbourhood walks through the City Bowl, Bo-Kaap and Woodstock; and city sightseeing that strings together the main landmarks.

A note on the Bo-Kaap, District Six and the townships: these are living communities, not attractions. Look for experiences that are locally led and that treat residents as hosts rather than scenery, and be thoughtful about photography.
